As you’ve probably noticed, there are lots of on places like Facebook. Be VERY careful to NOT believe everything you hear or read! YHWH doesn’t like people who “prophesy” things He never said!
Ezekiel 13: 9 “My hand will be against the prophets who have futile visions and produce false divinations; they will not be allowed into the council of my people, or be written in the register of the house of Isra’el, or enter the land of Isra’el. Then you will know that I am Adonai ELOHIM.
10 They deserve this, because they have led my people astray by saying there is peace when there is no peace. If someone builds a wall without mortar, they ‘plaster’ it with whitewash [to make it appear strong].
11 Tell these ‘plasterers’ that a cloudburst is coming, with huge hailstones and gale-force winds; 12 and the wall will fall down. Then people will ask you, ‘Where is the whitewash you used to “plaster” it?’” 13 Therefore Adonai ELOHIM says: “In my rage I will cause gale-force winds to break out, and in my anger there will come a cloudburst, with huge hailstones to consume it in fury.

May I please obtain insight into Y'shua's assertion regarding how even the citizens of Sodom would have repented from their ways?

DeleteYeshua is not saying the people of Sodom and Ammora would have repented. Looking at the verses in Matthew, what's the context? The context is if found in Matthew 10:1-14. Yeshua sent his talmidim out with the power to drive out unclean spirits, and to heal (v 1). He told them not to go to the Goyim (gentiles), but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (v 6).
DeleteThese people in these cities, i.e., the "lost sheep" know the Word of God, but have strayed, and Yehsua was sending the talmidim to them to "bring them back" with the knowledge of the Kingdom of Heaven (that is, the redemption Yeshua was bringing to all) (v 7).
Then he says to the talmidim, that if the people reject them and the Word they bring, then they (the talmidim) are supposed to move on and leave those people alone (vs 11-14), for if the talmidim's message is rejected, even though the people KNOW of YHWH, then the judgment on them will be worse than the judgment on the souls of the people of Sodom and Ammora (v 15).
You see, we know the people of Sodom and Ammora were so vile and depraved that YHWH destroyed them (Genesis 13:13; and Genesis 18 & 19). We know the soles of these people will be judged in the final judgment, and we can be sure it won't be pretty. But Yeshua is saying that those who KNOW, these "lost sheep of Israel", that if THEY reject the message of the Kingdom of Heaven, then the punishment of the people of Sodom and Ammora will pale in comparison to the judgment on them! And Yehsua warns the talmidim to be on guard (vs 16-18).
This "theme" that Yeshua is teaching continues in Matthew 11. See, for example, Matthew 11:20-24, where again, he addresses the "lost sheep" in the towns - people who KNOW YHWH, yet reject the Word.
