Did you know that it's not correct to suggest that "the Jews" are God's Chosen?

Did you know that it's not correct to suggest that "the Jews" are God's Chosen?

Now since I have your attention, let me explain what I mean.  YES, the Tribe of Yehudah (Judah) was special because it was CHOSEN to take Torah into the world and safeguard and preserve it (Genesis 49:10, Micah 4:2). The religion of JUDAISM (where the term "Jew" originated) took its cue from the Word of YHWH which has been around for as long as man has been alive - or at least 6,000 years. Believing Jews are Torah observant as YHWH instructed! (And let's not forget that YHWH caused Yeshua to be born into the Tribe of Yehudah/Judah).

So, YES, Jews ARE special!

BUT - the term "Jews" has simply become a blanket description for all Israelites. In actuality, only someone born into the Tribe of Judah can claim they are Jews. The fact is, there were no Jews until after Jacob begat the Tribe of Yehudah (Judah - Genesis 29:35; Matthew 1:1-2). The Torah reveals that His Chosen were called HEBREWS (Genesis 14:13). (See the lives of our first Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob).
Sooo, what am I getting at?

Well - simply this:  Scripture read in context reveals that EVERYONE, beginning with Cain and Abel, was Torah observant (which actually negates the Christian claim that they don't have to obey God's Divine Instructions!) ANYONE who believes in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is to be Torah observant, and He even said so FOUR TIMES IN A ROW in Numbers 15:13-16!

YHWH (Yahweh) chose Abraham (a pagan Chaldean) because He wanted to (see Deuteronomy 7:6-8) and He reiterated this in Jeremiah 31:32 by making His New Covenant with the Houses of Israel and Judah - both of whom were Torah observant.  (Notice, He didn't make any covenants with Gentiles or even Christians....)

THE GOOD NEWS IS, believing Gentiles who are grafted into the Olive Tree (Israel) automatically become part of Israel. They are "ONE" in Messiah - which doesn't mean they are Jews, BUT they can now call themselves HEBREWS (the word "Hebrew" means "To cross over" - which is what Abraham did when he accepted YHWH as his God, and went to live in the land God commanded him to go to in Genesis 12).

Being a "Hebrew" or a "Torah observant Believer" means you have accepted YHWH and His Divine Messiah and become Torah observant believers. (Remember - same God, same rules!)

The bottom line is, Yehudim (Jews) literally translates "those who praise Hashem," which is why that specific tribal name is used to describe all adherents to Torah, from any tribe and including converts... because all praise Hashem.

According to Scripture, anyone who accepts YHWH as their ELOHIM, and believes that His Divine Messiah (Yeshua) redeemed them, constitutes His "CHOSEN".... (See Deuteronomy 14:2; 1 Peter 2:9; John 15:16, etc.)
