We are truly in the end times as outlined in the Books of Daniel and Revelation! We can know this, not only by the fact that the world is experiencing wars and rumors of wars (terrorist activities), diseases, famines, violence, and natural disasters of "biblical" proportions....but also by the fact that human behavior is becoming more and more unstable. Everything God considers "bad" is now considered "good" by the world at large. Attempts to lead people to the scriptures that foretell this, usually result in scoffing and rejection.
But that doesn't change the fact that things ARE unfolding exactly as foretold in the Bible!
For instance, there was another "beheading" in Oklahoma recently (October 30). "Another" beheading, because there have been several in the USA in recent months. Reports of the October 30 Oklahoma beheading came one day after a man with a
history of psychiatric problems beheaded his mother in her Long Island,
N.Y., apartment and dragged the body and head out onto a street, where
onlookers initially thought they were witnessing a macabre Halloween
prank. In early October, Alton Alexander Nolen - a convert to Islam - was charged with first-degree murder in the beheading of a
54-year-old woman at his former workplace....
Thanks to the radical Islamic terrorist
influences, apparently "beheading" is THE way to kill people today. The most recent beheading was perpetrated on October 30 by a 21-year-old Stillwater man who
has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of
an area college student who, according to police, was nearly
decapitated. Isaiah Zoar Marin confessed to using a “long knife or
sword” to kill 19-year-old Jacob Andrew Crockett. Police say the two men
were “acquaintances” and Crockett was attending class at Northern
Oklahoma College, but was planning to transfer to OSU.
If you haven't yet figured out that "something strange" is happening in the world today, we beg you to please read the Bible and find your way to YHWH and His Divine Messiah, Yeshua! There are many "religions" out there, but there's only ONE God and ONE Truth that has resulted in nearly 400 "Old Testament" prophecies that have already been fulfilled.
Is there a verse in the Bible that says beheadings are a sign of the end times? Where does this teaching come from?
ReplyDeleteRevelation 20:4 - Then I saw thrones, and those seated on them received authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for testifying about Yeshua and proclaiming the word of God, also those who had not worshipped the beast or its image and had not received the mark on their foreheads and on their hands. They came to life and ruled with the Messiah for a thousand years.
DeleteYour critique of preterism is flayed in many ways. First you claim Mt.24:21 indicates a seven year deal with antichrist. Mt.24:21 says NOTHING of the sort, neither does any verse in the entire New Testament! You mention some notable partial preterists, then say they don't believe in a future return of Christ. Obviously you haven't done your research, or you would know they believe in a future return of Christ. Also for one, Gary Demar makes the cut off point at Mt.24:34, indicating everything mentioned before that verse was fulfilled & that whats after is, according to him open for debate. Also it would do you well to read Ken Gentry's 450 page book Before Jerusalem Fell that deals extensively with when Revelation was written, and there are futurists who believe it was written prior to 70 AD. If you're going to critique people, at least do your homework so you critique them according to facts. You may not have the guts to publish this but my e mail is sldwrd@yahoo.com, I'd like to hear your response. Shalom.
ReplyDeleteThe Post above by Anonymous, is apparently referring to The Refiner's Fire article "Challenging Preterism" found at http://www.therefinersfire.org/preterism.htm. It's got nothing to do with the above end times article on our blog....But, since it is here, we will respond. (Next time you post, we would appreciate your posting a LINK to whichever article you are referring so we don't have to hunt around for it!)
ReplyDeleteComments:
The article does not say as Anonymous states that: "...you claim Mt.24:21 indicates a seven year deal with antichrist". Matthew 24:21 is referring to the testimony in Daniel, as it says in Matthew 24:15.
But Anonymous is correct that no verse in the entire New Testament discuss the 7-year deal. That is in the Old Testament. But Revelation 11:2 and 13:5 do mention "forty-two months" which is 1/2 of 7 years, clearly related to Daniel's prophecy. And Matthew 24 mentioned Daniel directly.
Sorry you took offense to our generalization that partial preterists don't believe in a future return of the Messiah. But we have done our research, never mind your charge otherwise, and in general, both partial and full preterists advocate something far beyond what scripture says. While partial preterists, as you state, may believe in a future return of the Messiah, they interpret the "return" as one of many, not only a "2nd coming."
Mr. Demar can "cut off" the scripture wherever he likes to say what has and what has not yet happened! He has every right! And Mr. Gentry can stand in line as to just "when" Revelation was written! None of us were there!
And lastly, perhaps you should take your own advice. If you are going to critique people, don't make claims as to what was or was not done in their research!
Shalom!
