Scripture tells us to take good care of our animals

Google “grieving animals” and all sorts of videos will come up, including this one that shows how the dairy industry abuses new mother cows by taking away their babies, just to make a profit.

Scripture commands us to take care of the animals under our care. One of the signs of a righteous man, we are told, is that he takes care of his animals (Proverbs 12:10). Even the animal of an enemy was to be treated kindly: “If you come across your enemy’s ox or donkey wandering off, be sure to take it back to him” (Exodus 23:4).

One reason YHWH commanded His people to rest one day out of seven was so their animals would be refreshed (see Exodus 23:12).   In fact, Scripture says we must never treat any part of YHWH’s creation with contempt. When we do, we are indirectly treating our Him with contempt. He has called us to be stewards of His creation, and we are responsible to Him for the way we treat it.

Here is a sweet video of a little child who becomes upset when he figures out that animals haveto die to become food.

  1. Not to mention the elephants and rhinos being killed by poachers in Africa for a very small profit for their ivories and horns. To where the one of the ivory was traced back to one of the Catholic church in Asia which was ordered and collected by a bishop priest.
    Shall b'shalama!
