Response to someone who has rejected God

Well, this is sad. Here’s a woman who used to be a Christian, who obviously didn’t like rules and regulations, and discovered a way to negate God. She wrote on her blog:

"This changed one day during a conversation with my friend Alex. I had a habit of bouncing theological questions off him, and one particular day, I asked him this: If God was absolutely moral, because morality was absolute, and if the nature of “right” and “wrong” surpassed space, time, and existence, and if it was as much a fundamental property of reality as math, then why were some things a sin in the Old Testament but not a sin in the New Testament?" - Rachael Slick

My challenge to her (and I’m still waiting for an answer) was: “Where, in the NT do you see anything that says some sins mentioned in the OT aren't considered sins in the NT?” Since her friends couldn’t answer her question, then they – like her – never actually read nor understood the Bible! They don’t understand “what changed” after Y’shua died – and it certainly wasn’t the definition of sin.

Folks, I implore you to please read the rest of this article because if there is someone “out there” who doesn’t understand what Torah is, this could change your life….

You see, the kind of beliefs Rachael held while she was a Christian (who cling more to the misunderstood writings of Paul than to the commands of YHWH or the things that Y’shua taught!), is proof of the dangers of NOT being familiar with Torah. If one doesn’t know Torah, one cannot know YHWH or His Divine Messiah…and one CANNOT fully understand His Divine Instructions in Righteousness, without which we would have NO blueprint for moral, holy living!

"Torah" is not just the idea of, “Well, yeah, I’ve READ the Old Testament,” or "Aw shucks, that ol’ stuff was just for the Jews and it doesn't pertain to me." Hardly anyone stops to remember that neither Adam nor Eve were Jews - yet they obeyed ADONAI's Torah (Divine Instructions) ... until the day they broke the rules and ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil – which is THE reason mankind has been going astray ever since, and THE reason the world is in shambles right now! Cain and Abel weren't Jews, either. And neither were Noah or Lot, or our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac or Jacob! Yet they ALL obeyed Torah….

There were no "Jews" until the third Patriarch, Ya'akov (Jacob) had a son named Yehudah (Judah) whose offspring became ONE of the 12 Tribes of Israel....YHWH gave His Rules NOT JUST TO THE JEWS, but to ALL the tribes AND the foreigners who had come out of Egypt with Moshe and accepted Him as their God! (Exodus 12:37-38)

And then He constantly mentioned that ALL who accepted Him as God were to do exactly as “His people” did. In Numbers 15:13-16 He said it FOUR TIMES in a row!

Numbers 15: 13 "'Every citizen is to do these things in this way when presenting an offering made by fire as a fragrant aroma for ADONAI. 14 If a foreigner stays with you - or whoever may be with you, through all your generations - and he wants to bring an offering made by fire as a fragrant aroma for ADONAI, he is to do the same as you. 15 For this community there will be the same law for you as for the foreigner living with you; this is a permanent regulation through all your generations; the foreigner is to be treated the same way before ADONAI as yourselves. 16 The same Torah and standard of judgment will apply to both you and the foreigner living with you.'"

Please re-read the above in case you missed it: Any Torah-less non-Jew/Hebrew/Israelite who does not yet believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is an "alien"/foreigner. However, if they do wish to accept Him, then they are to do exactly as those who are already belong to Him!  This means Torah stands forever for ALL who accept YHWH as their ELOHIM, and they are expected to do their best to NOT commit anything HE considers “sin.”

Romans 10: 12. And in this, it discriminates neither Jews nor Gentiles. For there is one, Master YHWH, over them all, who is abundantly generous towards every one that calls on him. 13. For everyone that will call on the name of Master YHWH, will have life.

YES, it was because of "the Jews" that knowledge of YHWH came into the world - because the Tribe of Judah was charged with safeguarding the written Torah (Genesis 49:10, Micah 4:2) when YHWH’s people were scattered into the nations. (Also remember that YHWH caused Yeshua to be born into the Tribe of Yehudah/Judah!) But He never gave Torah “only to the Jews.” Torah is and was always meant for ALL who accept Him as their God!

So, for someone like this Rachael person to come up with one “bright idea” that she believes “set her free” to do as she pleases without incurring any guilt, is extremely self-centered and arrogant. People who love YHWH/Y’shua don’t sit around trying to figure out ways to disprove Him or His Torah! Rachael clearly didn’t know the WHOLE of Scripture, and now she has doomed herself forever because of her desire to SIN without supposed repercussions.

I pray she wakes up from her self-imposed stupor and decides to re-read Scripture from Genesis to Revelation in sequence and in CONTEXT.

  1. I wouldn't want to be rejecting YHWH during the times that we live in. On the contrary, I am drawn to Him because, as stated before, I believe YHWH uses events (terrorist actions, natural disasters, etc.) to get us repent of our sins and open us to Him.

    1. On something of a related note, how should believers in YHWH counter the belief that all religions lead to the same God or that our Creator answers to any name?

    2. GREAT question, Kevin. Not one that we can answer easily with just a sentence or two. Will get back with ya soon on this!

    3. Here's your answer, Kevin - I just finished writing it: Do all paths REALLY lead to God? "Do all paths REALLY lead to God?" http://blog.therefinersfire.org/2016/07/do-all-paths-really-lead-to-god.html

  2. Torah is not a 'religion'! It has nothing to do with Judaism, Christianity, Islam or any other man contrived religions of this world. It is the Living Word of YHWH, for all who want to worship Him in Spirit (Ruach Ha Kodesh) and in Truth (as Messiah, Yeshua's lifestyle depicted)! One cannot separate it from YHWH! Can't have one without the other. It is ECHAD, INDIVISIBLE!! Trinity teaching of Christianity is idolatrous as there is no such thing as 'three separate individual but co-equal deity' portrayed anywhere in YHWH'S Torah - quite the contrary! Simply put,"It Is The Tree of Life!" It was placed there in creation! Hence Adam, Eve and all others prior to Judah, were given the choice to obey or disobey, to understand it and live by it! It is 'the manifestation of YHWH's Grace, Mercy and Kindness', which is better than life itself. It represents YHWH'S absolute holiness and thus jealousy guarded and protected by the Cherubim with flaming swords, after the disobedience of Adam & Eve. Torah is YHWH, eternal! If one discards Torah, or ignores it, he/she cannot call upon Ha Shem for redemption /salvation! Shalom and thank you for your articles.

  3. My prayers are with you Sister Shali. Truly that we are in the end times, many don't want to hear the truth anymore. Shalom.
