Praying to Mary? Why?

Reasons Miriam/Mary should NOT be “prayed to” and cannot be our intercessor, mediator, advocate, helper or benefactress:

[1]  She was not YHWH’s Messiah.

[2]  She was not “the Mother of God” (GOD doesn’t have a “mother”).

[3] She, mother of YHWH’s divine Messiah, is a mere human.

[4]  She’s dead!

[5]  Nowhere in the Bible does it say she went straight to heaven.

[6]  Not once are we told that she has been resurrected or "sits at the right hand of God" (as in the case of Yeshua - Colossians 3:1).

[7]  She was simply the righteous vessel YHWH chose to give birth to His Son.

[8]   Even Mary herself understood SHE was not to be praised or worshipped (Luke 1:45-50).

Since Miriam was still alive when Yeshua died on the stake (John 19:26-27), it means she wasn’t “resurrected” or taken up bodily in any shape or form.  We know of no other "resurrection" since the day Yeshua died when there was a great earthquake, and some dead believers were "resurrected" (Matthew 27:50-53).

Therefore, Mary must wait until Yeshua's Second Coming when many believers will be "caught up in the air to meet him" (1 Corinthians 6:14; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17). (The final "catching up" of mankind will happen at the end of Yeshua's thousand year reign when we will ALL stand before YHWH on Judgment Day (Revelation 20:11-15).)

While being chosen to give birth to the Messiah was a huge honor, this did NOT make Mary "the Mother of God" (can GOD have a mother?) and she is NOT someone to idolize or to "pray to." Yeshua was our Messiah, a human with a divine Nature – and that Nature was divine because he was YHWH's Son!

Yeshua Himself taught, "This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven....'" (Matthew 6:9). Yeshua intercedes on our behalf to the Father (Hebrews 7:25). The Bible teaches that we have access to the Father only through Yeshua (John 14:6; Ephesians 2:18; 1 Timothy 2:5). Therefore, we should be praying to the Father, in Yeshua's Name (John 14:13-14).
