A quick lesson on why we must be very discerning about scam artist Bible “thumpers”

Here's a good lesson on why we should refrain from fellowshiping with scam artists and those who use the Bible for personal gain, while "talking the talk" but are in reality pushing YHWH/Yeshua/Torah into the background. We must always be vigilant to make sure that those who are teaching us, are TRULY all about YHWH's Word!

Titus 1:1. PAUL, a servant of Elohim and an apostle of Y’shua the Mashiyach; according to the Faith of the elect of Elohim, and the knowledge of the Truth which is in the Fear of Elohim 2. concerning the hope of eternal life which the Ever-truthful Elohim promised before the times of the world; 3. and in due time He has manifested His Word by means of our announcement which was confided to me by the command of Elohim our Life-Giver; 4. to Titus, a real son after the common faith: Grace and peace from Elohim our Father and from our Master Y’shua the Mashiyach, our Life-Giver.

5. For this cause left I you in Crete, that you might regulate the things deficient and establish elders in every city, as I directed you: 6. him who is blameless, who is the husband of one wife and has believing children who are no revilers nor ungovernable in sensuality. 7. For an elder should be blameless as the steward of Elohim; and not be self-willed nor hot tempered, nor excessive in wine, nor with hands swift to strike, nor a lover of base gains. 8. But he should be a lover of strangers and a lover of good (deeds), and be sober, upright, kind-hearted, and restraining himself from evil passions; 9. and studious of the doctrine of the Word of Faith that he may be able by his wholesome teaching both to console and to rebuke them that are contentious.

10. For many are stiff necked and their discourses vain; and they mislead the minds of people, especially such as are of the circumcision. 11. The mouth of these should be stopped: they corrupt many families; and they teach what they should not, for the sake of sordid profits. 12. One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, idle bellies.”

13. And this testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in the faith 14. and may not throw themselves into Jewish fables and into the precepts of men who hate the Truth. 15. For to the pure, everything is pure; but to them who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but their understanding is defiled, and their conscience. 16 And they profess that they know Elohim, but in their works they deny him; and they are odious and disobedient and to every good work reprobates. (AENT)

What then are these “Jewish fables”? We find an explanation in the AENT:

“According to Charles Ryrie: Jewish myths; speculations of a Gnostic sort, supposedly based on OT scripture. Ryrie Study Bible (NASB), p. 393. The key is in the highlighted portion of the above passage, “they profess to know Elohim, but in works deny him” for by this very description, Paul has named the heretical sect. “Gnosticism” is derived from the Greek gnosis, “to know.” What is often overlooked is that Gnosticism did not originate with Christianity, although later adopted by many Messianic themes. Rather, it began as a Jewish sect with their own “myths and fables.” According to Professor Ryrie: The heresy of Gnosticism had begun to make inroads among churches in John’s day.

Among its teachings were: (1) knowledge is superior to virtue; (2) non-literal sense of Scripture is correct and can only be understood by a select few; (3) evil in the world precludes God being the only creator; (4) the incarnation is incredible because deity cannot unite itself with anything material such as a body (Docetism); and (5) there is no resurrection of the flesh. The ethical standards of the Gnostics were low… (Ryrie Study Bible (NASB), p. 440).

Is it any wonder then why Paul was upset at these false teachers? Even a conventional Pharisee would take great offense to such posturing, and they most certainly did with four of these five articles of belief. These false teachings are, of course, diametrically opposite to Paul’s own teaching as a “ringleader” of the Netzarim, so there should be no surprise when he takes these false teachings to task. In any case, one can easily see how modern readers, divorced from the historical context, can easily draw the wrong conclusion and not take into account who the speaker is, and who the intended audience is.”

Here are some more scriptures to take to heart:

2 Peter 2:1-3 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Romans 16:17 I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,

1 John 4:1. My beloved, do not believe all spirits; but discriminate among spirits whether they are of Elohim: for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2. By this the Spirit of Elohim is known; every spirit that confesses that Y’shua the Mashiyach has come in the flesh is of Elohim. 3. And every spirit which does not confess that Y’shua the Mashiyach has come in the flesh is not of Elohim; but he is of the false Messiah of whom you have heard that he comes and now is he already in the world. (AENT)

FOOTNOTE: The Spirit of Mashiyach dwells inside a person. This does not refer to Y’shua coming in his flesh to Earth; even the demons know that much (see Luke 4:41). This refers to the neshama (spirit of man) being born from the beginning into the image of Elohim, which is evidenced by living a Set Apart life unto YHWH, having Torah written upon the heart and growing in the Attributes of Mashiyach as revealed in Isaiah 11:2.

  2. (2) non-literal sense of Scripture is correct and can only be understood by a select few;

But that is the core of your believe system as well; that only spirit fill christians can understand Scripture. If someone rejects the way you interpret certain Scripture or all your doctrine, you declare them "BLIND".

That is why one of the standard responses from a christian is "You don't understand". The assumption is that non-believers (or even more funny is ex-christians like me) are just ignorant and just need to be shown how the puzzle is put together.

Fact is most of us DO understand, FULLY AND COMPLETELY understand and, with that FULL understanding, we reject your claims. I was a christian for 15 years. I FULLY understood and believed until Scripture proved it wrong.
Let me tell you this: leaving it was TONS harder than joining.
It certainly SEEMED to make sense.
I SEEMED to have some sort of conversion experience.
I loved it and was on fire.
I certainly did not WANT to leave it, but over about 5 years the evidence just stacked up, one Scriptural problem after another, until the "still small voice" was more like a constant roar in my ears to leave. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do.
Truth was not to be found within the wall of christian churches, only defense of doctrine.

    1. "Truth was not to be found within the wall of christian churches, only defense of doctrine."

There was your problem: You were looking for Truth within the walls of Christian churches ... when, all along, it was right there in your Bible!

  3. YOU SAID: In any case, one can easily see how modern readers, divorced from the historical context, can easily draw the wrong conclusion and not take into account who the speaker is, and who the intended audience is.”

Funny you should say that because that is EXACTLY how christianity, and any/all of its many incarnations, got derailed and continues to operate: people can easily believe christian doctrine because THEY are "divorced from the historical context" and from the TRUTH about what Israel/Judaism really believed.

Relying on that ignorance, christianity either accidentally or deliberately distorted the TRUTH about Judaism to form a straw-man, which they then use to show how Jews/Judaism/OT was faulty and this NEW system is far better, eternal and was really the plan all along.

That is why your system makes sense to NON JEWS, because
    - Jew are NOT "divorced from the historical context"
    - Jew do NOT "draw the wrong conclusion"

If you read what christianity tells us about original sin and atonement and substitutionary sacrifice etc, it all makes perfect sense.... except to the Jews ... who were the ORIGINAL people who KNEW EXACTLY about these topics and how DISTORTED the christian version really it.

Jews did not and do not reject jesus out of ignorance or malice but out of knowledge give to them by God Himself. They were the one who God told about the coming messiah. They didn't get it wrong.

Please don't tell me how "jesus was a Jew" or "The first christians were Jews".... yeah yeah yeah... it is all just part of the big lie.

I have walked your walk... 15 years in christian from Copeland, AOG, Souther Baptist, Messianics, Hebrew Roots.... done it all. And it was all designed to PROVE to me that it is all a lie. NOT FROM HERSAY, but from the inside; Im not an atheist who rejects it from the OUTSIDE.
From FULL UNDERSTANDING and LOVE of christianity, I saw the lie and left.

    1. Thanks for your comment. I'm truly sorry to see that you are an anti-missionary who has rejected our God-given Messiah and God's "rest of the story!"

I have to be honest here: Your comment, "I have walked your walk... 15 years in christian from Copeland, AOG, Souther Baptist, Messianics, Hebrew Roots.... done it all" reveals that you fell prey to gullibility. If you had actually read Scripture through the lens of the Ruach, you would never have done any "religion surfing." Every counter-missionary I've ever encountered has the same story. They went from this denomination to that denomination to that religion, etc...

My question for you is, if Jews are all-knowledgeable and all-understanding when it comes to Scripture, then why were they originally scattered into the nations? I'll tell you why: Because of their endless disobedience to YHWH and His Torah! WHY did they allow religions and idolatory and homosexuality (which YHWH calls an abomination!) to enter their Land since 1948? I'll tell you why: Because they've become soft and "tolerant!" And pray tell, WHY did they give away the Temple Mount???? Torah certainly never told them to do that "for the sake of peace" or anything else....

Also, if they're so all-fired-awesome and knowledgeable when it comes to Scripture, why have they never figured out that Isaiah 53 is all about Messiah? And please don't try to tell me "It's all about Israel" - Can Israel DIE for Israel? (No, but Y’shua did! See Matthew 27.) Can Israel be wounded for our transgressions? (No, but Y’shua was! See Matthew 27.) Can people take Israel's garments and divide them? (No, but that certainly happened in Y’shua’s case! See John 19:23.) WHEN was "Israel" wounded for our transgressions or crushed because of our iniquities? Has the world been HEALED by "Israel"? Not hardly! Y'shua has filled myriads of Tanach prophecies - and people can reject it all they want, but they cannot CHANGE those facts!

And every single person like yourself has told me "If you had actually read Scripture through the lens of the Ruach"
A classic cop out. You HAVE to blame me rather than allow the thought that I could be right enter your brain.
    And, of course, the preaching.
Like I did not know all that information (their disobedience, Isa 53, etc etc) from the first WEEKS of my indoctrination into christianity?

Best I can tell you is that you are not ready for the truth. But know this: I fought leaving christianity with all my might. I fully believed in jesus and that my exit might cost me my life. I walked my dog 3 times a day and wept 80% of them begging God to give me clarity. I walked alone for 5 years before I stumbled into the missing parts.

The Tanakh is the full story.
There is no need for your new testament.
There is no "original sin" eternally separating you from God.
You do not stand condemned to hell without jesus.
No one can "take away your sin". You must face the consequences of your own life.

I would give you some Scripture which would pretty clearly refute some of the foundations of christianity, but I have never met a christian who could get past their christian filter so I won't bother.

You think I can't see truth because I don't have the Rauch. Well you also have a sight problem. You cannot see Scripture except thru your indoctrination.
It took me YEARS to clear me head and relearn how to think. Christianity is really very damaging to your ability to objectively reason thru Scripture.
You know how useless it is to talk to a JW? BINGO!! Circles, you just talk in circles.

Just know that you/christianity have fallen prey to the very point of the original article: you are "divorced from the historical context" and were led to "the wrong conclusion".
It is the best I can do for you.

    1. Thanks for your comments. Amazingly, you never answered any of my question. You did what all counter-missionaries do: Ignore and continue with your rant against Christianity. In case you haven't figured it out, this is NOT a Christian website. I wish you well.

  5. No I did not answer your questions. They are not questions which can be answer in a forum like this very easily and I don't doubt you have heard the counter argument. I don't general engage at places like Isa 53 because I think there are more fundamental areas which supercede such topics.
And if you believe jesus is God and the Messiah, you are christian, maybe not Southern Baptist, but you are worshipping the wrong God.

    1. You didn't answer my questions, because you CAN'T!

You are free to "doubt" whatever you wish; all you're doing is assuming what I've "heard" and have not heard....I've dealt with enough of you people to know ALL the arguments and counter-arguments.

You may put whatever label on me that you wish, but YHWH - someone whose Name you are afraid to use, even though He gave His Name to Moshe - knows WHO I worship, and that's ALL that matters. What YOU think matters not.

Again, we wish you well, but this will be our final response because it's clear you are writing just to harass and harangue and to waste our time. Any future posts from you will be deleted.
