Is "grace" really the "message of the Gospels?"

I recently heard a Christian say:  “Grace is the message of the Gospel, not the Law of Moses.”

Er, no….that's not exactly true.  Partly true, but not the whole story.  The message of the Gospel is the same as the message drawn like a taut bow string throughout the entire Bible: OBEDIENCE to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!

The Bible is not just the "story of God"; it is not "man's fall and deliverance"; it is not the "OT vs the NT"; it is not about "those old rules that don't apply to us"; it is not "love" and it is certainly not "grace". The Bible is: Yahweh asking us to obey Him - This is stated at least 281 times! Yahweh wants nothing more than for us to obey Him. One does not obey Yahweh by simply "believing" while, at the same time, continuing to sin and ignoring Torah!

Hebrews 10:26 - "For if we deliberately continue to sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins…"

Thus, to obey Yahweh and to have Torah written on our hearts (Romans 2:15) means that people will at least try to learn and obey Torah, and to begin to integrate it into their daily lives!

In the OT perhaps Proverbs 4:2 says it best: "...for I give you good instruction, do not forsake My Torah."

In the NT, perhaps Yeshua says it best: (John 14:15) "If you love me, you will keep my commands."

Yeshua sought to show us the way to the Kingdom of Yahweh. Along the way, He showed us love and the meaning of obedience, and most importantly, He died for our sins. But let us not forget that Yeshua only taught what Yahweh sent him to teach!

Luke 4: 43 "But he (Yeshua/Jesus) said, "I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent."

Luke 8: 1. And it happened after these things that Y'shua was going around in the cities and in the villages and was preaching and declaring the Kingdom of Elohim.

Acts 28: 23 "From morning till evening the Apostle Paul explained and declared the Kingdom of God and tried to convince people about Yeshua from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets."

Acts 24: 14. But this indeed I (Paul) acknowledge, that in that same doctrine of which they speak, I do serve the Elohim of my fathers, believing all the things written in Torah and in the prophets.

Yeshua said:

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants. On that Day, many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord! Didn't we prophesy in your name? Didn't we expel demons in your name? Didn't we perform many miracles in your name?' Then I will tell them to their faces, 'I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!'"

Who are "workers of lawlessness"? Those without obedience to Yahweh; those without Torah....

  2. Someone attempted to post an “Anonymous” rant under this thread – but we didn’t permit it because it contained some very inappropriate comments. But, to show you how lost and vicious some people can be, we will go ahead and post some of it, omitting those parts that were too offensive to post. We will not provide any kind of response to this person because Scripture tell us these attacks would happen (2 Timothy 3:12, etc.), and it commands us to spread the Word but avoid engaging in verbal battles/stupid arguments (2 Timothy 2:23, Titus 3:9) . We are also commanded to “shake the dust from our sandals” (Matthew 10:14, Luke 9:5) of those who refuse to hear our message – which is NOT, as this person suggests – a message of “self-made religion”, etc. This person is simply bringing life to those passages that tell us how evil people will be in the “end times.” We pray that YHWH would open his/her eyes to HIS Truth!

“You bask in your own self made religion and God by fooling yourself into thinking that you are doing right by calling the Christ 'Ye'shua' and God all these different names...

“I think you were on the right path long ago but have clearly gone off the mark on your journey and have fallen into a pit of self righteous behavior and 'I'm special' gloating.

“You seem to have a problem with a nonexistent issue in Christianity and have gone on a Crusade beating at shadows. You believe - like many - you understand the Bible but just like the New Testament only groupies you vomit your preaching on, you are so stuck in the Old Testament - as the same group of people in the Jewish faith you can never get along with….

“I suggest you do a major turn around and think about how silly and trite you seem to the world… Have you ever stopped for one second and asked God, "Father, tell me - am I doing Your Will?" Or are you just assuming that because nothing bad has happened to you or you haven't experienced any negative consequences that "I must be right!" You are of the same ilk as televangelists who delude themselves into thinking it is okay with God to buy expensive pointless hoo hoo like Bentleys and Cessnas and not realize they're pumping the same cow that many New Agers milk - God or the 'goddess' or higher powers can be manipulated to give me fancy stuff I've always wanted!!! “

    1. And here is the bottom line: Nobody is forcing anyone to adhere to our teachings, so if you really hate our teachings that much - feel free to stay off our site! Simple solution.

  3. Sister Shali, keep your shield up and do not fear to this kind of "rant". We know that in the last days the dragon will raged and will attack those who bear the name of Y'shua and His Commandments.

    Shalom!

    1. Thanks for the kind words! We actually don't fear those rants; we receive them pretty much on a daily basis. Each one serves to verify that we are IN the end times, verifying the scriptures that warn us what was to come and the types of people we would encounter.
