Some thoughts about atheists and other "lukewarm" types

Have you seen some of the videos spewed from the mind of an atheist named Sam Harris?    The poor guy clearly has no clue about God or the Bible, but feels compelled to lead everyone else astray.  (He is obviously one of those “end times false teachers” the Bible warns us about! )  People like him always leave me wondering why, if atheists don’t believe in God, why do they bother  to spend so much energy negating Him?

There is an answer to that question:  Because YHWH IS REAL – and I believe that, down deep, atheists know that!  The problem is, their pride refuses to allow them to admit there’s something more intelligent and powerful in the universe besides themselves.

Too bad for them.

We’ve seen over and over again how the end times prophecies outlined in the Books of Daniel and Revelation are unfolding before our very eyes.  One would have to be totally blind to NOT make the connection.  See our article on the end times

Sam is IN "the world" ...I would urge him and anyone he has managed to confuse,  to check out our Challenging Atheism page. Scripture amply warns us about false teachers and prophets....

2 Timothy 4:3-4: For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

I personally know some people on Facebook who have done what the scripture above says!  It's obvious by the things these "former believers in Messiah" now espouse, that they never had a good grasp of God and the Bible, in the first place!  The things they are saying and writing are absolutely ludicrous - yet they are out there, surrounding themselves with false teachers (such as D.M. Murdock - aka "Acharya S") and slamming anyone who does believe.

The following scriptures depict not only the fall of well-known pastors and rabbis and self-proclaimed teachers of the Word (who are either making it all about themselves and/or leading people away from the Word), but it also seems to refer to world leaders, many of whom have already fallen or are about to fall due to their own pride and arrogance.  Scripture tells us that pride always accompanies the downfall (Proverbs 16:18).

Corinthians 1:17-31: But Elohim has chosen the foolish ones of the world to shame the wise; and He has chosen the weak ones of the world to shame the mighty; and He has chosen those of humble birth in the world, and the despised, and them who are nothing, to bring to nothing them who are something: So that no flesh might glory before him.. And you, moreover, are of him in Y'shua Mashiyach; who has become to us wisdom from Elohim, and righteousness and separateness, and salvation: According to that which is written: "He that glorifies in himself, let him glory in our Master (Y'shua)." (Aramaic English New Testament)

Romans 1: 22 Claiming to be wise, they have become fools! 23 In fact, they have exchanged the glory of the immortal God for mere images, like a mortal human being, or like birds, animals or reptiles! 24 This is why God has given them up to the vileness of their hearts' lusts, to the shameful misuse of each other's bodies. 25 They have exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, by worshiping and serving created things, rather than the Creator - praised be he for ever. Amen.

Romans 1:28 In other words, since they have not considered God worth knowing, God has given them up to worthless ways of thinking; so that they do improper things. 29 They are filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and vice; stuffed with jealousy, murder, quarreling, dishonesty and ill-will; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God; they are insolent, arrogant and boastful; they plan evil schemes; they disobey their parents; 31 they are brainless, faithless, heartless and ruthless. 32 They know well enough God's righteous decree that people who do such things deserve to die; yet not only do they keep doing them, but they applaud others who do the same.

Here's one for all those who insist they were once believers, but decided they had been deceived and ultimately rejected YHWH/Y'shua, or moved on to some other "religion":

2 Peter 2: 19. And they promise them liberty while they themselves are the slaves of corruption: for, by whatever thing a man is vanquished, to that is he enslaved. 20. For if, when they have escaped the pollutions of the world by the knowledge of our Master and Redeemer Y’shua the Mashiyach, they become again involved in the same and are vanquished, their latter state is worse than the former. 21. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after having known (it), to turn back from the Set Apart Commandment that was delivered to them. 22. But the true proverb has happened to them: the dog returns to his vomit and the pig that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire.

Our prayer is that people like Sam Harris will one day realize there IS a God and that He is NOT kidding around.  If Sam doesn't mind being just "worm fodder" when he dies, that's his choice.  But he WILL stand before YHWH before that happens, so he can see the huge mistake he made!  Judgment Day IS coming and everyone will get a chance to reflect on the life they led on earth - before entering either into Eternity...or into Nothingness.  YHWH gives us the choice to accept or reject Him.  There is no gray area.

  1. I've ways wondered the same. If I don't believe or agree with something I try to either avoid it entirely or just not pay attention to it. And yet most atheists have this profound fixation on God and their concept of God it gets to the point of comical stupidity. Sometimes I feel like atheists spend more time talking about God than most Christians or anyone they like to vilify for believing.

I think it's more or less fear, not pride. When you fear something, you tend to tear it down, become obsessed with it. Fear manifests itself as pride or anger but that is just one of the reactions.

I think most people are afraid of God and the concept of higher beings, energies, whatever you wish to call them. People don't even like to consider the fact we are a tiny planet floating in the vacuum of space hurtling towards the centre of our galaxy at millions of mph, surrounded by more stars and more galaxies and who knows what. And then add in the presence of angels and God?

  2. We will not disappear into nothingness.

There will come a new age and a new time. We will all have the chance at a new birth free from death. We will return from the ashes as a Phoenix in the flame, in a world much better than our own.

There are many ages to come. Who knows the mind of God, save God? Will you pass Judgement upon the souls of the dead and the living? Will you stand on the right hand of God? Who are you to know the ways of the Lord? There are many things which shall be revealed and you have barely gleaned the surface.

    1. Thanks for your comment, “Teo’rima”. We’re not sure what you’re trying to say, though. We can know “the mind of God” because He reveals it throughout the entire Bible. That’s also how we are able to “know the ways of the Lord.” Who are we to “know the ways of the Lord?” Well, we see through all 66 Books of the Bible how He is constantly trying to reach His people and teach us HIS ways. Since we believe in YHWH and His Divine Son, aren’t we HIS people and thus, have a right to “know His ways”?

YOU WROTE: “There are many things which shall be revealed and you have barely gleaned the surface.”

How do you know that, since you seem to be denying the God of the Bible? What source are you getting your information from?
